Virtual Worlds, Real Cheaters (TechWeb)

TechWeb - The author of a new book, "Exploiting Online Games," says that cheaters are infesting online worlds like World of Warcraft and Second Life, and they could become a threat to mainstream business systems.


June sales estimates: 435k Wii’s, 200,000 Xbox 360’s, 100k PS3’s

The much hyped analyst Michael Patcher has thrown forward his estimates for sales of console hardware in the U.S. as follows - 435,000 Wii\’s, 200,000 Xbox 360\’s and 100,000 PS3\’s. The official figures are expected to be available from July 23rd.

Sony to phase out $500 PlayStation 3 (Reuters)

Reuters - Sony Corp. (6758.T) plans to
phase out the cut-priced $499 model of its PlayStation 3 video
game machine, leaving only a higher capacity $599 model for
sale in the United States, the company said on Monday.
