Nintendo and NTT to make Wii internet access easy in Japan

Nintendo and telecoms operator NTT are joining forces in Japan to promote the broadband Web access of the Wii. Nintendo hope to boost access to its WiiWare service which launches there next March, and NTT aims to boost subscribers to its fiber optic-based Web connection service. The two companies will start operating call centers jointly on Thursday to provide consultation and support for Wii\’s Internet connection. They will also offer a cut-rate start-up package, which provides equipment for Web access, on-site set-up and other services for Wii users.
