Wii breaks 5 million console sales in Japan

Research company Enterbain has announced that the Wii has sold an estimated 5,019,337 units in Japan in just over a year. The top 5 Wii games were Wii Sports (2,663,938), Wii Play (2,139,084), Mario Party 8 (1,153,648), Wii Fit (1,113,626) and Super Mario Galaxy (843,961).

Kaz Hirai plays down PS3 price cut rumors

Playstation supremo Kaz Hirai has played down rumors that the PS3 is set to receive a further price cut. Speaking to Bloomberg Japan, Hirai confirmed that Sony has no plans to cut the console\’s suggested selling price.
